Modern rustic sculptural faux bois furniture and lighting design of Live Edge dining table with chandelier.
Designed by Christopher Poehlmann for CP Lighting (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), the Live Edge is the one of the exploration in modern rustic design from Poehlmann and first introduced in 2012 International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF).
The Live Edge table concept is at once surprising, familiar, engaging and highly practical. No old growth trees were taken down ever for this series, just FSC sustainable plywood with a playful black and white wood grain laminate surface and the artists hand to create the LiveEdge table top.
The sculptural bases are fabricated from aluminum where a jumble of roots or branches fabricated from welded post-consumer aluminum with a brushed finish.
The Live Edge dining tables can be built with an integral chandelier growing up from the base of the table and spreading a canopy of aluminum branches and light from above.
